Comptroller Franchot to attend Gaithersburg Book Festival Saturday

10th annual event attracts hundreds of award-winning and best-selling authors, poets and songwriters from across the country

WHAT:

The Comptroller will spend Saturday morning at the Gaithersburg Book Festival, which in just 10 years has grown into one of the nation's top literary events. The festival, which is the brainchild of Mayor Jud Ashman, features award-winning and best-selling authors, workshops, multilingual story time and a costume parade.

The festival, which is free to attend, also offers programming for kids. The Children's Village, hosted by Washington Parent, will let young readers meet their favorite storybook characters and hear from notable authors, improve their reading skills and let their imaginations run wild.
