Comptroller Franchot To Be Honored by Maryland Retailers for Leadership

Louis L. Goldstein Service Award to be presented at annual ceremony in Aberdeen

WHAT:

Mr. Franchot will be honored on Tuesday evening by the Maryland Retailers Association at its 34th annual dinner and awards ceremony with the Louis L. Goldstein Service Award for his outstanding public leadership and support of Maryland retailers.

MRA initiated the Annual Service Award in 1985 and renamed it in honor of Louis Goldstein in 1998. The award honors individuals and organizations for contributing to the vitality of the industry. Through programs like Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week, Shop Maryland Energy Weekend and Shop Maryland for the Holidays, as well as several legislative initiatives, Comptroller Franchot has tirelessly promoted Maryland businesses and supported the local retail industry that drives the state's economy.
