Comptroller Franchot to Engage in Community Outreach Saturday

18th Community Outreach Day and African American Festival on tap for Baltimore

WHO:

Comptroller Peter Franchot

WHAT:

Mr. Franchot kicks off Saturday participating in the Central Church of Christ community outreach day. This free annual gathering provides access to health and wellness information, job opportunities, financial literacy education, veterans resources, senior resources, and recreational and fitness opportunities for residents of all ages to engage in.

Next, he heads to the Baltimore African American Festival in Druid Hill Park to enjoy this vibrant family-oriented cultural and wellness festival. For decades the Baltimore AFRAM fest has been one of the largest on the East Coast, with more than 100,00 visitors each year.

Finally, the Comptroller rounds out his day in Howard County to take in the 74th year of this iconic county fair. He will help reunite people with their unclaimed property at the unclaimed property booth, and stroll the fairgrounds to see local goods from craft beer to jewelry and livestock on display.
