Motor Fuel Tax Reports

The Comptroller's Office is responsible for monitoring the distribution and use of motor fuels in Maryland. The agency registers petroleum transporters, such as tanker trucks, trains, pipelines and waterborne vessels, operating in and through Maryland as well as service stations and other facilities that sell or store motor fuels in bulk in Maryland. Full accountability of all motor fuels is necessary for tax collection and quality control purposes.

The following reports detail the amount of fuel sold in Maryland, tax receipts from sales and other fees as well as how much fuel is consumed in Maryland.

This report outlines motor fuel activities for the past fiscal year. Details include gallonage and revenue collections, expenses, net distributions, prior year comparisons, license information, and other statistics.
