Comptroller to Tour Baltimore Attractions on Wednesday

Babe Ruth Museum, American Visionary Arts Museum, and Great Blacks in Wax Museum have lots for locals and tourists to see

WHO:

Comptroller Peter Franchot

WHAT:

Mr. Franchot will spend Wednesday afternoon in Baltimore, where he will explore three of the city's distinct attractions that cater to locals and tourists alike. He'll begin at the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, where he will tour the Bambino's birthplace and peruse the archives with Director Mike Gibbons.

Next, the Comptroller will visit the American Visionary Art Museum to take in the eclectic creations from the country's self-taught artists. The museum is home to many unique exhibits and popular programs, including the annual Kinetic Sculpture Race, demonstrating the merging of ingenuity, artistry and engineering.

Finally, Mr. Franchot will head to the Great Blacks in Wax Museum, among the nation's most dynamic cultural and educational institutions committed to the study and preservation of African American history. There, he'll examine the life-size wax figures of some of the world's most noted historical and contemporary figures.
