Comptroller Franchot to Speak at TEDx event Saturday in Bethesda

Visionaries to gather at Strathmore Music Center for tech talk

Mr. Franchot will speak Saturday afternoon as part of the TEDx Talks program, where he will share with attendees his experiences in public service and thoughts on where and how innovation and business merge.

TEDx events offer independently organized talks on technology, entertainment, and design topics that are relevant to local communities. The gathering at Strathmore Music Center will feature presentations from a variety of multidisciplinary visionaries, including Sharmi Albretchsen, a Shark Tank investment awardee from Bethesda; Matt Paxton, the extreme cleaning expert from hit television show, Hoarders; Dr. Kevin Chan, the Center Director of one of the most innovative eye care practices in the United States; Brandice Heckert, principal at top-rated Winston Churchill High School in Potomac; and Julian Mitchell an award-winning multimedia journalist for Forbes.
