Community Collaboration Conversation Slated for Takoma Park on Friday

Comptroller Franchot to take part in panel discussion on volunteerism and community building

WHAT:

The stage will be set Friday morning for a gathering of elected officials, community leaders, and outreach organizations for a panel discussion on volunteerism, civic engagement and the effect on local neighborhoods. Comptroller Franchot will be joined by Montgomery County and Takoma Park City council members as well as Adrienne Clutter of Montgomery County Recreation, and Elyse Preston of Maryland Out of School Time Network (MOST).

Topics will include community building through volunteerism, local partnerships between government and non-profit organizations, and increasing participation in community programs to combat poverty.
