Franchot to Visit Outdoors Store in Waldorf Today

The Comptroller will stop by Beacon Surplus this afternoon to present a proclamation to owner Larry Switzer in recognition of more than 25 years as the region’s largest retailer of rugged, outdoor equipment and apparel. The stop is part of a series of visits throughout the state for Mr. Franchot during National Small Business Week, which runs through May 11.

Since 1992, Beacon Surplus has been Southern Maryland’s leading retailer of military gear and supplies, rugged workwear, campaign equipment, scouting supplies and canoes and kayaks.
