Comptroller to Hold Latino Publication Roundtable

Gathering to address the needs of Latino/Hispanic Taxpayers

WHAT:

On Thursday morning Mr. Franchot will host a meeting of journalists who cover the Latino/Hispanic community in an effort to better address the needs of the Hispanic communities they serve. Frontline bilingual employees will be present to discuss concerns and dispel myths prevalent in these neighborhoods when it comes to filing taxes and engaging with the Comptroller's office. They will apprise attendees of the various services offered including tax preparation and filing help for those that have not mastered the the English language, or lack the writing skills necessary to do so on their own.

This roundtable event also provides a forum to hear from those with their finger on the pulse of the Hispanic community regarding ways the Comptroller's office can better assist these taxpayers.

Additional general news topics will be discussed as well.
