Peter Franchot To Be Sworn In For Fourth Term As Comptroller

Gov. Larry Hogan will administer oath of office in ceremony to be held at the University of Baltimore

Comptroller Franchot, Maryland’s 33rd Comptroller, will be sworn in to his fourth term of office Monday morning, in a ceremony to be held at the University of Baltimore. Gov. Larry Hogan will administer the oath of office.

Elected leaders and citizens from throughout Maryland taking part in the ceremony include:

  • Joan M. Pratt, CPA, Baltimore City Comptroller, Master of Ceremonies;
  • Kurt L. Schmoke, president of the University of Baltimore, Welcoming Remarks;
  • Baltimore County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, Presentation of Colors;
  • Shairee Arora, a student from Roberto Clemente Middle School in Montgomery County, Pledge of Allegiance;
  • Mackenzie Windsor, a student from Chopticon High School in St. Mary's County, National Anthem;
  • The Rev. Dr. Alvin C. Hathaway Sr., pastor of Union Baptist Church in Baltimore, Invocation; and
  • Rabbi Peter E. Hyman of Temple B’nai Israel in Talbot County, Benediction.

Remarks will be delivered by:

  • State Senator Cory V. McCray, District 45 (Baltimore City);
  • State Delegate Julian Ivey, District 47A (Prince George's County);
  • Salisbury Mayor Jacob R. Day (Wicomico County); and
  • Kathleen S. Causey, chairwoman of the Board of Education of Baltimore County.
