Franchot to Tour Coppin State and Meet with Student Leaders

Comptroller to visit Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program office

On Monday morning Mr. Franchot will tour the university's VITA program office where taxpayers that have a disability, limited English or earn less than $54,000 can receive tax help free of charge. Next he will speak to student leaders from the Coppin State School of Business, sharing his insights on Maryland's economy, the business climate, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Shingirayi Mushong will then guide a question and answer session with the Comptroller and these future titans of industry on moving Maryland forward.

Mr. Franchot will next head to Exclusive Motorcars Headquarters where he will honor owner James Maka for his work as a leading minority owned small business in Baltimore. Mr. Maka has received several awards for his exceptional customer service.
