Comptroller to Visit Cecil County on Monday

Franchot will honor food manufacturer, promote Shop Maryland Energy Weekend and visit Elkton brewery

WHAT:

Comptroller Franchot will spend Monday in Cecil County, starting with a visit to Thymly Products in Colora where he will present a proclamation to owner Trey Muller-Thym for providing specialized foods to the global baking community since 1967.

He will next visit Goodies Refrigeration and Appliances in Rising Sun to promote Shop Maryland Energy Weekend. This annual program runs from February 16-18 and offers taxpayers an opportunity to purchase qualifying ENERGY STAR appliances without paying the 6 percent state sales tax.

Finally, Mr. Franchot will head to Maryland Beer Company in Elkton to tout the economic contributions of emerging manufacturers and to promote his support of reforming the state's craft beer laws.
