Franchot to Sample Two of Baltimore's Best Chicken Sandwiches

BRD, Jimmy's Famous Seafood were among top vote-getters in survey

WHAT:

Mr. Franchot on Friday will visit two Baltimore City eateries that were top vote-getters in the Comptroller's recent Facebook survey searching for "Maryland's Best Chicken Sandwich."

First, he'll visit BRD, located at R. House in Remington, and present a proclamation to owner Alex Janian. Since opening three years ago, BRD has won rave reviews for their mouthwatering chicken sandwiches, wings, tenders and more. BRD recently opened a second location in Federal Hill.

The Comptroller then heads to Jimmy's Famous Seafood where he will congratulate owner John Minadakis on the restaurant's 45th anniversary. Jimmy's reintroduced their famous chicken sandwich during the Facebook contest and donated all proceeds totaling $6,000 to Best Buddies Maryland, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
