Comptroller to Tour Baltimore Ronald McDonald House on Tuesday

Iconic Italian pastry shop Vaccaro's to receive proclamation

Comptroller Peter Franchot

Comptroller Franchot heads to Baltimore on Tuesday morning to tour the recently renovated Ronald McDonald House. The Board of Public Works has approved nearly $3 million in funding for this project since 2017. The Ronald McDonald House provides a "home-away-from-home" for seriously ill children and their families.

In the afternoon, Mr. Franchot will stop by the iconic Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop in Little Italy where he will present a proclamation to owners Nick and Maria Vaccaro. Vaccaro's was opened by Nick's father in 1956, and has become a mainstay for old-world, traditional Italian cookies, cannoli, cakes and more. The business also operates locations in Canton, Hunt Valley and Bel Air..
