Comptroller Franchot to Kick Off Little League Season in Baltimore

Northwood, Mosher Little Leagues have served communities for decades

Comptroller Peter Franchot

Comptroller Franchot will continue a tradition of participating in the opening day ceremonies of several little league organizations in Baltimore on Saturday, beginning with Northwood Little League where he will present organizers with a proclamation honoring their commitment to serving the youth and families of Baltimore for 60 years.

Next, the Comptroller will deliver remarks at the James Mosher Little League Opening Day parade, and also throw out the first pitch. The organization is nearing its 60th anniversary of providing a wholesome program of sports while promoting good citizenship among the children in Baltimore.

Organized sports programs in Baltimore and across the state provide safe, structured environments where children learn teamwork and sportsmanship, while also strengthening communities and building lifelong friendships.
